A compact robotic platform for Swarm Robotics research is utilized by Prof. Gal Kaminka, associate professor at Bar Ilan University’s Department of Computer Science, and leader of the MAVERICK group. The group focuses on social intelligence in robots and agents within virtual environments, aiming to create robots capable of reasoning, manipulation, collaboration, and coordination with humans and other robots. Their research targets controlling and monitoring teams of robots and agents, with a key outcome being the automation of teamwork, allowing efficient, cost-effective, and seamless human-robot collaboration.
Where did NEAT have an impact?
– ● Designing hardware and establishing communication channels between the robots.
– ● Developing the software that controls the entire system.
– ● Constructing the swarm and implementing a software-burning device.
